Proposed Citizen Involvement Process

Submitted by Friends of Wil… on Mon, 02/06/2023 - 13:40

A proposed Community Involvement Process is on the agenda for the February 8, 2023 meeting of the Wilkinsburg Government Study Commission which starts at 5:30pm in Room 304 of Hosanna House, 807 Wallace Ave, Wilkinsburg.  Show your support by completing and submitting the online form.  All who can are urged to attend either in person or online. Zoom connection information is available on the borough website.

The intention is to enable people who do not have a conflict of interest to participate with others who care about Wilkinsburg in an organized process through which those involved could:

  • serve as an enhanced conduit for interactive communication between members of the public and the Commission;
  • inform, educate, and advise the public about the various matters under consideration;
  • investigate the conditions within and outside the borough that affect its residents, property owners, and businesses;
  • identify the current state of the community, its problems and needs;
  • research possible solutions and report to the Commission findings of promising prospects for meeting both present and future needs; and
  • propose for the Commission’s consideration potential home rule charter provisions that could help to establish a more effective, more efficient, and more responsive municipal government.
